Glenwood, WA 98619

The small community of Glenwood. Glenwood, WA is the home of the annual “Ketchum Kalf” rodeo. The first rodeo was held in 1934 under the name of “Mt Adams Cattle Association”. It was held at the old Conboy Place (west of where the Lazy Dazy S is today). It was held on July 4th and was used as entertainment for the CAMAS PRAIRIE AND VICINITY PIONEER ASSOCIATION. In the beginning, it was held in an open field without chutes, corrals or grandstands. The horses and cattle were supplied by the local farmers and ranchers, The cowboys were the locals! In 1937 the rodeo was moved to the Bert Lane Place (right behind the Post Office). It was still a bunch of farmers and ranchers having fun in a field!! In 1941 it was moved to its present-day site just west of Glenwood. The land was donated to the Glenwood Rodeo Association by Pete Conboy. In 1943 the name was changed to the “Ketchum Kalf” rodeo.
