Come, Enjoy, Relax

Our little house is part of our homestead near White Salmon, WA. It was once a woodworking shop. Here, we made handcrafted artisan furniture and sold it under the Sticks and Stones Studio label. As our business grew, we needed a larger shop, so we built one and used this space for an art studio. It became the headquarters for Chelsea Heffner’s Wildcraft Studio School. When Wildcraft moved into the town of White Salmon, we decided to offer it to folks looking for a place to have a quiet country get-away.

One of the things we love most is looking at the night sky. Since we’re far from city lights, the sky is incredible. On clear evenings, we like to lie on the ground and gaze at the Milky Way.

Every season has something to offer. Spring brings an abundance of verdant growth. The grasses and trees display every shade of green imaginable. Tiny crocus poke their heads up unexpectedly. Birds busily build their family homes. In summer, the crickets sing to the starry nights. Quail nest in the snowberry bushes. Tiny brown bunnies often forage in the fields. Wild turkeys, hawks, grossbeaks, sapsuckers, and many other species are frequent visitors. Autumn brings cooler temperatures as the days grow shorter. The crisp night air teams with life. It’s easy to feel like you are connected to EVERYTHING. In winter, sparkling bits of snow seem to glow under quiet moonlight. The still silence is occasionally broken by the hoot of an owl, a mourning dove, or a distant coyote’s call. It’s not unusual for deer to wander through the yard any time of year.

We love it here and are pleased that we’re able to share this magical place with others.
